The Department “Technology of food products and products of light industry” is one of the leading departments of the State University named after Shakarim of Semey city. It was established and started its educational activities in 1963 and has made progress in the preparation of highly qualified, competitive engineers and bachelors for the food industry.         
From 1993 to 2010 at the Department functioned Dissertation Council for PhD theses in the specialty 05.18.04 – “Technology of meat, dairy and fish products and refrigerating manufactures” since 2008 began its work the joint Dissertation Council for doctoral dissertations OD 14.50.13 specialties 05.18.04, 05.18.12.
Since 2004 masters program in educational programs 6M072700 – “Technology of food products” and 6M072800 – “Technology of processing industries” and PhD doctorate, specialty 6D072700 – “Technology of food products”, in 2012 opened a new specialty at the masters 6M073500 – “Food safety” and bachelors 5B072600 – “Technology and designing of light industry products”.
During the existence of more than 4,000 professionals who work in various industries.   

Head of the Department        
Since December 2011 the Department of “Technology of food and light industry products” State University named after Shakarim Semey city is headed by candidate of technical Sciences, acting Professor Assenova Bahytkul Kazhkenovna.
Assenova Bahytkul Kazhkenovna was born in 1958 in the city of Semipalatinsk. He graduated from Semipalatinsk technological Institute of meat and dairy industry, specialty “Technology of meat and meat products”. Qualification engineer – technologist of meat and meat products. In 1989 graduated from the Central Institute of improvement of professional skill of executives and specialists of national economy in Moscow in the field of patents, the patent agent qualification.
From 1992 to 1995 study at postgraduate at Semipalatinsk technological Institute of meat and dairy industry. In 1996. he defended the dissertation on competition of a scientific degree of candidate of technical Sciences, specialty 05.18.04 – “Technology of meat, dairy and fish products and refrigerating manufactures” under the guidance of doctor of technical Sciences, Professor Tuleuov E. T. In 2002 awarded the rank of Professor in the field of technology of food products. From 1999 to 2004 he worked as Deputy head of educational and methodical Department, and since 2004 to December 2011 – the head of educational Department of the State University named after Shakarim.
In 2009 took courses internal auditor “Requirements of international standard ISO 9001:2008, ISO 19011:2002”, Semey, certificate:049/004-09.2012-present: head of the Department “Technology of food and light industry produ  cts”.
In 2014 research internship and professional development at the University of food technologies Plovdiv, Bulgaria in Novosibirsk agrarian Unive       rsity.
Has work experience of more than 30 years. For the period of pedagogical activity graduates Bahytkul Kazhkenovny were more than 100 professionals working in leading enterprises, institutions and organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. B. K. Assenova – co-author of over 160 scientific papers; author of 4 monographs, 15 textbooks, for students, undergraduates and doctoral students. It registered 20 innovation patents and the positive opinion on the patent, including 3 patents in Russia. Bahytkul Kazhkenovna have participated in competitions of scientific works and projects, won the title of winner of the competition of MES RK “the Best teacher of 2013”; awarded the badge “Honorary worker of education of Kazakhstan”, has many certificates, diplomas, and letters of appreciation of rectors of universities of Russia and Kazakhstan. In June 2015 the decision of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of natural Sciences awarded by A. Nobel medal for contribution to development of inventions. She was a consultant of the thesis for the candidate of technical Sciences and head of masters theses.
Main scientific interests: research of meat and dairy raw materials for the multi-purpose product.

 

To prepare highly qualified specialists for various sectors of the food industry, with significant volume of modern knowledge and professional skills in the field of food technology.

  1. Improving the quality of academic performance of students by 5%.
  2. The increase in the number of students in the bachelors, masters and doctoral programs by strengthening career guidance starting from September of the current year by 10%.
  3. To increase the number of practice bases with subsequent employment of students and to ensure the employment of graduates of the Department to 92%.
  4. To enhance the development of academic mobility of students of undergraduate and graduate programs among the universities of Kazakhstan and the near and far abroad – 2 students, 1 graduate student and 1 PhD student.
  5. To activate publishing for the production of educational, methodical benefits in the state language, to increase production of educational and scientific literature, together with foreign scientists by 25 %, including 2 monographs.

The educational process is organized on the loan and is based on the approved working curricula of specialties that correspond to SCES “Bachelor”, model curricula and model programs in the disciplines and the catalog of elective subjects. Along with professional and special disciplines students study elective courses chosen by students and approved by the academic Council of the University.
The content of courses meets the training programmes and modern requirements.
The Department has a model and working curricula of specialties, model and working curriculum in the state and Russian language. The content of the model and work plans, model and working curricula of specialties, methodological support of educational process meets the requirements of the state obligatory standard of education and the modern requirements of training.
Educational-methodical work of the Department is aimed at providing graduates theoretically and practically prepared for work in industry, consumption, processing and production of food. Members of the Department conduct classes in 150 subjects (in English, Russian and Kazakh languages). On all disciplines of Educational-methodical complexes (emcd), including the working program of discipline for teachers, a program of discipline for the student, educational materials (lectures, methodical instructions to laboratory and practical classes, design work, course and diploma projects). Lmcs are also available on the graduate courses and guidelines for masters theses. Undergraduate and graduate students are provided with programs for all types of practices. For the control of knowledge in the process of learning in all disciplines have the tests.
PSAS and SRO organized in accordance with the approved work curriculums.
The availability of educational and methodical development specialty cycles of primary and basic disciplines in the Kazakh and Russian languages is 100%.
At the Department “Technology of food products and products of light industry” is conducted annually actively working to provide students with the bases of practice, at the same time concluded a Treaty with the new food enterprises of food industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main bases of practice are: LLP “Semipalatinsk meat-preserving factory” restaurant “Youth”, cafe “Semol”, JSC “East Kazakhstan flour and feed milling plant”, LLP “Values”, LLP Bakery East”, LLP “Semnan”, LLP “Pastry-mix”, LLP “Semipalatinsk leather and fur factory”, JSC “Semipalatinsk leather and fur factory” LLP “Bagration” and other enterprises of the East Kazakhstan region and the Republic.
The educational and practical training is carried out at a high level corresponding to the aims and objectives of the training according to the curriculum of specialties according to long-term and individual contracts.

Academic mobility
In the 2nd semester of the 2014-2015 academic year, the students of PP-313: Aman A. S., Asengali J., Bakitzhan B. B., Tekisheva U. S., Rainarbekova T. K.. and Barakova A. T. studied for academic mobility in the South Ural State University (Chelyabinsk, Russian Federation).
In the 2015-2016 school year in the 1st semester undergraduate 2 year degree “Food safety” Baikadamov A. on academic mobility left for learn 1 academic period at the University of Food Technologies in Plovdiv (Bulgaria). In the same University hosts scientific training students of 2 courses of the specialty “Technology of food products” Igenbaev A.

  

  

  

 

 

The Department of Type successfully cooperate with leading universities of Kazakhstan, CIS and far abroad. Signed bilateral agreement on cooperation between the South Ural state University (Russia, Chelyabinsk), University of food technologies (Bulgaria, Plovdiv), University of Densely (Turkey, Pamukkale), EGE University (Turkey, Izmir). The result of this work is to invite scholars to lecture and conduct research, joint publications articles in refereed journals with impact factor.
In the framework of educational programs V, 5B072700, V is international and cultural cooperation at international scientific conferences, exchange of teaching materials, consultations, inviting scholars to give lectures, exchange of experience between Russian universities (Moscow State Academy of applied biotechnology, Kemerovo technological Institute of food industry, Novosibirsk state agrarian University, Saratov State agrotechnological University, etc.). There is a Scientific school, because it is the only University in the Eastern region, where you are training in these fields for more than 50 years. Teachers and students of the Department participate in national and international scientific conferences in Kazakhstan and CIS – Moscow, Saratov, Voronezh, Barnaul, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Kursk, Almaty, Astana, the city, Pavlodar, etc., where they present the results of their scientific research and studies. The research results are successfully introduced into production, are protected by copyrights and patents.
The faculty of the Department participate in the competitions of the MES budget program: “Grant financing of scientific researches” and staff of the Department successfully completed a research grant on “Development of technology of combined meat products functional purpose with the use of raw materials of animal and vegetable origin”. Scientific supervisor-doctor of technical Sciences, Professor – Amirkhanov K. J., project Financing in 2012-2014 year – 15 000 000 tenge. On the topic of the research grant work – – 5 Department staff, 1 master student and 1 student.

Currently teaching staff and students of the Department are working on a research grant “Integrated recycling of flour-milling production – germ of the wheat grain with the creation of innovative new technology of food and food additives”. Scientific supervisor-doctor of technical Sciences, Professor – Amirkhanov K. Zh. project Funding in 2015-2017 year – 15 000 000 tenge. On the topic of the research grant are open 7 Department staff, 1 PhD student, 1 master student and 1 student.

The Department “Technology of food products and products of light industry” engaged in educational work in the following areas: Health, Communication, Ethics, Citizen, Leisure. Curators are preparing students to conduct a University-wide cultural and educational activities: contests, parades, art performances and concerts. In the direction of the educational work of the “Health” of the duties of curators includes making available to students the importance of physical and mental health, for their future self. To solve this task, the curators collaborate with the medical staff of the health authorities and parents of students, organize extracurricular activities, forming a positive attitude to physical education and sport. The activities of the curator in the direction of “Communication” is giving our students the experience of generations, knowledge, abilities and social skills of people, the formation of students culture of communication in the system “Teacher – student”, “Student – student”. In “Morality” students are taught to understand the meaning of human existence, to understand their role in society. Curators with students attending the theatre and cinema, excursions to historical and memorable places of the city, are holding discussions on moral issues. The purpose of the curator in the direction of “Citizen” is the formation of students relevant knowledge on the law and legal norms as regulators of human behavior in society and the relationship between the individual and the state, requiring a self-conscious choice of behavior and responsibility for it. The activities of the curator in the direction of “Leisure” is to create conditions for the manifestation of students initiative, independence, responsibility, sincerity and openness in real life situ      ations.

The research projects involved students who actively participate in conferences and has publications in journals such as “Meat industry”, “Young scientist” (Russia), “Bulletin of the Shakarim state University of Semey”, “journal of ATU”, the scientific journal “Search”, “Bulletin of the Altai state University”, “news of science of Kazakhstan”, “journal of Innovative University of Eurasia”, etc. Students are involved in research by teachers of the Department of TFP & lip and teachers in other departments. The results of these studies are reported on the annual student conferences, and the best are marked by letters. 2012 students V “Technology of processing industries” (Karabaev E., Isabekova E., Baiteleusova B.) and 5B072700 “Technology of food products” (Valouev E., Copiesare E., Sarsenbaev G.) in the Republican subject Olympiad in Almaty technological University among 9 Universities took 2nd place and received diplomas, letters of appreciation and prizes. 2013 students of V “Technology of processing industries” (Maratov G., Baizhumanova M., Telepathics A.) and 5B072700 “Technology of food products” (Klimenkova O., Tajibaeva A., Abdulgasimov A.) in the Republican subject Olympiad in Almaty technological University among 9 Universities took 2nd place and received diplomas, letters of appreciation and priz es.
In 2014, the students of the specialties V “Technology of processing industries” (Maratov G., Powell, G., Kostyuchenko, E.) and 5B072700 “Technology of food products” (Klimenkova O., Murzataev A., Arup K.), V “Technology and designing of light industry products” (Kaslin J., Adilshanova M., Kazbekov E.) in the Republican subject Olympiad in Almaty technological University among 13 universities took 3rd place and received diplomas, letters of appreciation and prizes. In 2015 the students of the specialties V “Technology of processing industries” (Kostyuchenko E., Arystanbekova M., Tapenova A.) and V “Technology and designing of light industry products” (Kaslin Zh., Kamzanova A., Kazbekov E.) were awarded with prizes and letters of appreciation, 5B072700 “Technology of food products” (Arip K., Kairatova M., Orazgaliev S.) took 3rd place and won valuable prizes.
In 2013, the scientific work of the student 4 courses of the specialty “050728-Technology of processing industries” Telepathics A. at the competition of scientific works of students dedicated to the 155th anniversary of sh. Kudaibergenova among 72 scientific papers took 1st place and received a referral to the Republican contest of scientific works of students in Astana, and research work of the student of 3rd course “5B072700 – Technology of food products” Klimenkova O. received a letter of thanks for their excellent work.
Undergraduate 2nd year of Azilkhanov Aidos specialty M – “Food safety” took part in the summer school in KazNAU in the period 2-14 June 2014 on the theme “Food aupzzn artemisis this problemleri Zhane hetter” (4 credit) and received a certifica        te.
