Journalism as a specialty was opened in Semipalatinsk Shakarim state university in 1998. Russian department students were trained at Russian philology chair; Kazakh department students were trained at Kazakh philology chair. A specialized – Journalism and practical Kazakh language chair was opened at university in 2013, teaching staff is 10 teachers.
Head of the chair is Zhumagulova Aliya Matayevna, candidate of philological sciences.
All teachers have the basic education corresponding to specialty. Average age of teachers is 48.
The chair has regulating educational and methodical documentation for ensuring educational and educational processes:
– State Compulsory Education Standards
– standard curricula of specialty;
– working curricula (form of education);
– standard training programs of disciplines;
– educational and methodical complexes of disciplines.
Educational and methodical complexes are compiled on the basis of standard programs.
Educational and methodical complexes of specialty disciplines are developed according to requirements of the State Compulsory Education Standards.
Quality of lessons is promoted by inner control. Teachers participate to each others lessons. There is a journal in the chair where teachers record their visits. The schedule of open lessons is compiled. The work is conducted on the basis of the approved schedule. Teachers plan to conduct an open lesson using innovative technologies in order to improve quality of students’ progress. In approving theses the chair has to pay a special attention to their relevance. Hayati Tyufekchioglu, PhD, Professor of Istanbul University read lectures to 5V050400- Journalism specialty students from November 10 to November 23 in 2013-2014. According to academic mobility program ZhU-201 group students Aydynkyzy Aydana and Saylaubayeva Akbota studied in Pomukalle University (Turkey).
