YOUNG SCHOLAR PASSIONATE ABOUT SCIENCE – AT THE INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR

From April 15 to 17, 2025, a young scientist from Shakarim University, professor of the Department of Biotechnology, Dr. Mukiyanova Gulzhamal Slyamgazievna took part in a unique scientific and practical workshop "Silk Road Seminar on Sustainable Crop Production, Northwest A&F University, 2025" in China in the city of Yangling.

 

 

The aim and work of the workshop was devoted to the development of production of valuable food and socio-economically important crops such as potatoes and agriculture in order to strengthen scientific interactions between research centers.

 

 

The conference was attended by scientists and delegates from China Ankang University (AKU, Shanxi Province) represented by Dr. Chengyao Zhou and major agricultural work in the region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, such as Baitursynov University, Kozybayev University and KATU named after Seifulin and representatives of agribusiness in China and Kazakhstan.

 

 

Due to initiative and invitation of the Vice-Rector of SVAFU, Professor Weising Shan  Dr. Gulzhamal Slyamgaziyevna presented on behalf of Shakarim University with a plenary report on the topic of her research: “Recent achievements in the diagnostics of plant viruses and risks associated with plant pathogens in Kazakhstan”

 

 

As part of the conference, a round table was held to discuss future scientific interactions and prospects in the field of potato growing and strengthening agricultural science and agribusiness between China and Kazakhstan and the possibility of transferring knowledge and technology in this area.

 

 

The conference participants were shown the faculties, laboratories, biotechnology center, and Smart Agriculture platform of Northwest A&F University.

 

 

Scientists from Northwest A&F University highly appreciated the scientific works of Mukiyanova Gulzhamal in the field of Virology of Cereal Crops, Phytopathology of apple crops and offered their cooperation in a joint study of apple diseases at the molecular biochemical level.

 

 

«This meeting became for me personally a mirror of the legacy of Mukhtar Auezov: «The knowledge is only thing which equalizes people»» .- concludes Dr. Mukiyanova.

 

 

Dr. Gulzhamal Slyamgazievna expresses her deep gratitude to Professor Weixing Shan for the honor of representing her University and special gratitude to the leadership of Shakarim University for supporting and establishing sustainable international and fundamental scientific ties.
