On May 19, Shakarim University hosted a round table dedicated to the revival of national spirituality and the promotion of cultural values.
The event, titled “Cultural cognition” was attended by prominent representatives of the intelligentsia known in the country: Temirtay Izbastin, a prominent statesman, an authoritative diplomat of the Republic of Kazakhstan, enhancing the prestige of our country in the international arena, Ermek Beisembayev, philanthropist, Master of Economics, Kairtai Baitilesov, representative of the intelligentsia of the Pavlodar region, member of the public council, Bekzat Smagulov, President of the “Abai” Foundation, laureate of the state youth award “Daryn,” and Zhan Tapin, opera singer, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan.
Chairman of the Board – Rector Duman Rymgaliuly noted Temirtay Rymtaiuly’s contribution to the country’s foreign policy and the wide popularization of the country’s spirituality, as well as his merits in promoting the culture, language and traditions of the Kazakh people abroad.
At the meeting, the President of the “Abai” Foundation, B. Smagulov, spoke in detail about the scientific and diplomatic activities of Temirtay Rymtaiuly, as well as his work on promoting the legacy of Abai at the international level.
T. Izbastin emphasized the importance of national values in the education of young people and the need to promote great personalities abroad. He also spoke about how he organized the translation of Abai’s works and M. Auezov’s novella “Grey Fierce” into Bulgarian, and initiated the opening of a street and a monument to Abai in Bulgaria.
During the round table, Professor Arap Espenbetov, a scientist who made a huge contribution to the literary and scientific systematization of Sultanmahmut’s biographical path, and who systematized the poet’s scientific biography based on archival data, delivered a meaningful report on the life of S. Toraigyrov. In his speech, he especially noted that Temirtay Izbastin’s father, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Rymtai Izbastuly, tirelessly worked to study the works of Sultanmahmut Toraigyrov, preserving and promoting the poet’s legacy.
At the end of the meeting, Temirtay Izbastin was awarded the title of “Honorary Professor of Shakarim University” for his professional competence, contribution to the development of the country’s diplomacy, promotion of the culture, language and traditions of the Kazakh people, and significant contribution to Kazakh culture and spirituality.
In addition, public figure, graduate of Shakarim University, a qualified specialist in the field of agriculture Kairtai Baitilesov was awarded the jubilee badge of Shakarim University.
During the spiritual event, Zhan Tapin, a bright star of Kazakh opera, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, who glorifies our national culture all over the world, performed Abai’s songs, inspiring the audience.
The “Cultural Consciousness” round table became an important platform for teachers and students in the direction of popularizing national identity and spirituality, and uniting science and culture.
In addition, the guests of the event got acquainted with the fund of ancient books in the university library, the work of the research center “Abai and National Spirituality”, the museum dedicated to the life and work of Shakarim, as well as with the results of research work being carried out in the educational institution.
