Today, as part of the project between Shakarim University and Xi’an Jiaotong University (China), Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Innovation of Shakarim University, Mr. Yerasyl Altaiuly Dulatbay, and Dean of the School of Digital Technologies and Construction, Ms. Dinara Oshankyzy Kozhakhmetova, paid a working visit to the region's key energy facilities — “KEGOC” JSC and “AES Shulbinsk HPP” LLP in Semey city — and held meetings with key stakeholders.

During the meetings, extensive discussions took place on the role of the planned international laboratory in the field of electrical automation, which aims to modernize the regional energy infrastructure, as well as on the urgent need to train specialists. In particular, issues such as the shortage of engineering personnel in the energy sector, dependence on imported automated systems and devices, and the need to produce these technologies at the regional level were raised.

The parties emphasized that establishing a joint laboratory would combine scientific and technical potential, improve the training system, and pave the way for technological independence and sustainable development in Kazakhstan’s energy sector.
