23 universities, but only one winner – and that winner is Shakarim University!
From January 29 to 31, 2025, Hackathon-2025 titled "Kazakhstan's Universities – Drivers of National Development" took place in Astana. This large-scale event brought together the country's leading universities and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, becoming an arena of intellectual competition for the title of the best strategists in higher education.
As a result of the competition, Shakarim University emerged as the absolute winner, surpassing even the national universities of the country, proving that its team consists of new leaders shaping Kazakhstan’s future!
The victory was remarkable not only because the university demonstrated exceptional strategic preparation but also because it was represented by young, ambitious vice-rectors and department heads—those who are already turning the ideas of the future into reality.
During the FuturEdu Strategy Simulation, an intensive strategic simulation developed by the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO, participants made decisions affecting the development of the university environment at a national scale. The Shakarim University team showcased the highest level of competence, integration of innovations, and strategic thinking, securing their position as the undisputed leaders among 23 top universities in Kazakhstan.
Shakarim University was represented by a new generation of young professionals. Here are their names: Askar Kasymov, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Social Development, Erasyl Dulatbay, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Innovation, Asem Asaubaeva, Director of the Financial Department, Chief Accountant, Ainur Rakhymberdiyeva, Head of the Personnel Development Support Department, Shyngys Amirkhanov, Head of the Student Service Center, Ilyas Zhumadyilov, Head of the Department of Construction and Geodesy and Nurasyl Yelubaev, Speaker of the Student Parliament.
Our team didn't just develop a strategy – they proved that Shakarim University is shaping the future, educating a new generation of managers, entrepreneurs, and scientists.
Victory is not just a result; it is a sign that regional universities of a new format are ready to take responsibility for Kazakhstan's development.
Congratulating the team, Rector Duman Orynbekov emphasized that behind every manager representing Shakarim University stand students, faculty, and researchers. They are transforming the university today, and tomorrow, they will transform the entire country.
Hackathon-2025 once again proved that true leadership is about status, the ability to move forward, see further, and achieve more.
