From January 20 to 25, a delegation of Kazakhstani universities, led by the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, is participating in the largest exhibition Bett UK: Leading EdTech 2025—a global event in the field of educational technologies, held at the ExCeL London exhibition center in the United Kingdom.
During the visit on January 20, the Rector of Shakarim University Duman Orynbekov and Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Innovation Yerassyl Dulatbay visited the University of Reading, where they held productive meetings with the School of Pharmacy, the School of Sustainable Development, and the Institute of Education. The parties discussed the prospects for implementing joint scientific projects and exchanging experiences in the fields of pharmacy and chemistry.
As a result of a meeting with Professor Vitaly Khutoryanskiy, a specialist from the School of Pharmacy, a fellow of the Royal Society of Industrial Sciences, the parties discussed prospects for joint scientific projects and experience exchange in the fields of pharmacy and chemistry. The issue of establishing mirror laboratories for conducting research in environmental protection was also raised.
Another fruitful meeting took place with Dr. Emmanuel Adu Essah, Head of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Department at the University of Reading, and Dr. Irem Dikmen Toker, Professor of Construction Engineering and Management. During the meeting, the parties agreed on the implementation of a dual-degree program in physics and construction management, as well as the provision of PhD supervisors from among the professors of the University of Reading.
Following a meeting with Dr. Sarah Marston, Dean of the School of Education, both universities reached a mutual agreement on the development of inclusive education and short-term courses on teaching methodology for students and faculty members.
Thus, the visit of Shakarim University’s leadership to one of Europe’s leading universities was marked by a series of significant achievements on the path to shaping the new image of an innovative university, committed to creating unique educational programs, advancing scientific research, and strengthening international cooperation.
