Shakarim University Strengthens Collaboration with Educational Institutions of China

From November 22 to 28, 2024, a delegation from Shakarim University, led by Chairman of the Board - Rector Duman Orynbekov, undertook a working visit to several leading universities in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (PRC).

The purpose of the visit was to enhance international partnerships in fields such as agriculture, animal husbandry, and innovative technologies.

During a meeting with the leadership of Tarim University, key areas of collaboration were identified, encompassing a broad range of aspects within the agro-industrial complex (AIC). In addition to implementing joint educational programs, the parties agreed to establish laboratories and practical training sites that will operate within the university's educational and scientific programs. These initiatives will focus on areas such as food security, horse breeding, and dairy production, enabling the university's students and faculty to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.

As a result of negotiations with the leadership of Xinjiang University, both parties reached a mutual agreement to develop joint projects aimed at advancing cutting-edge IT technologies, including sensors and software for the automated grazing of large and small livestock. These innovations will enhance the efficiency of livestock management processes.

The delegation also visited Altai College of Yan Xiuhe.

Together with Altai College, plans were made to establish close collaboration in the field of equestrian sports. This partnership will offer students and staff from Shakarim University extensive opportunities for internships at the college's facilities. Moreover, several joint projects were outlined to develop programs in the areas of sports tourism and winter sports.

Overall, this working visit marked an important milestone in establishing and strengthening partnerships with leading scientific, educational, and industrial institutions in the People's Republic of China. The agreements reached and the planned projects in specialist training, internships, and educational programs will provide a solid foundation for enhancing the qualifications of students and faculty. This, in turn, will positively impact the development of the university's educational and research potential.
