АР08956857 "Development of scientific recommendations and practical measures for obtaining bioactive supplement feeds for live-stock by using algae and cultivated chlorella"

Supervisor:

Relevance:

Currently, in the domestic agricultural complex there is a problem of a deficiency of complete feed protein. Therefore, the issues associated with the development of rational ways of using algae in agriculture, the conservation of their species diversity in Kazakhstan, require urgent comprehensive study. This direction is new and relevant, since previously the algal flora of this region has not been studied, and it has not been cultivated and used as BFA.

Theoretical and experimental data on the study of algae-based feed additives for farm animals will make a significant contribution to the level of development of the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan. BFA which will be developed are promising, because they are resource-saving, with high feeding and biological value, with a long holding period.

Target:

The development of scientific recommendations and practical activities using previously untested filamentous algae, fresh water reservoirs near to the Semey region, as well as the cultivation of chlorella aimed at obtaining a biological feed additive (BFA) for farm animals. A distinctive feature of the Project is both the novelty of this focus area and its perceptiveness, since both experimental and theoretical studies (biological activity and chemical composition of algae) of the first obtained BFA will be carried out, BFA containing biologically active substances, minerals and vitamins.

Expectation:

A comprehensive study of algal flora (monthly dynamics of the content of macro- and microelements, organic substances) and analysis of their distribution in fresh water bodies of the Semey region; study of algae stocks; study of the influence of conditions on the cultivation of the chlorella suspension; study of the effect of BFA, obtained from algae, on the biochemical parameters of chickens and animals; development of complex biologically active additiveand the establishment on the basis of experimental studies of optimal doses of introducing BFA in the diets of birds and animals

Result:

In order to study the possibility of using previously unexplored filamentous algae of fresh water bodies of the Semeiskiy region and cultivated chlorella to obtain a biologically active feed additive (BFA) for farm animals, the following have been investigated:
- the chemical composition of algae has been determined;
- the optimal conditions for the cultivation of chlorella have been determined;
- the optimal dose of introducing BKD into animal diets was determined and the effect of BKD on the performance of animals was investigated.
