Dear colleagues, dear student community!
Nauryz is not just a celebration of spring. It marks a turning point when the world is renewed, when all living things are filled with strength, when the past is reflected upon, and the future becomes clearer. And while nature follows its own laws of renewal, society does so through people—their thoughts, actions, and decisions.
It is symbolic that during Nauryz, Kazakhstan hosts the National Kurultai—one of the most influential intellectual and decision-making platforms where critical issues of the country’s development are discussed.
The fourth Kurultai was no exception, reaffirming the effectiveness of its work by setting strategic directions for years to come.
Kazakhstan is undergoing transformation, facing challenges that demand new knowledge, new people, and skilled professionals.
Shakarim University is already in the midst of this renewal. This goes beyond infrastructure improvements, digitalization, and scientific advancements—it is a shift in mindset, educational models, and ambitions.
Kazakhstan is moving towards nuclear energy, advanced technologies, and cutting-edge science. Our university is training specialists who will soon be working at nuclear power plants, in research centers, and on national-scale projects. Here, future engineers, scientists, and researchers are being prepared to address issues of radiation safety, environmental protection, and energy modernization.
Yes, Nauryz is about moving forward. But it is also about reflecting on the past, honoring our roots, preserving our national identity, and ensuring generational continuity. Our university takes pride in the legacy of great scholars, thinkers, and mentors whose contributions shape this new era of knowledge.
Abai Region carries a complex history. For decades, nuclear tests were conducted here, leaving scars not only on the land but also raising profound questions about the future. Today, we are engaged in the ecological restoration of our region—through research, innovative scientific projects, and the education of specialists. We will not allow past mistakes to be repeated.
This is the true essence of Nauryz—reflection, rebirth, and a new path forward.
