Shakarim University, taking its social responsibility towards the society, carries out the following activities within the framework of SDG 1:

- Grants Shakarim for free student tuition (https://semgu.kz/en/pages/index?pathway=obuchayush...), including discounts on tuition for both students and children of employees;

- Annual staff support action for the preparation of first-grade children for school;

- Assistance is provided to families with many children and orphans, for example, orphans are given free accommodation in the Student Houses (https://semgu.kz/en/pages/index?pathway=molodezhna...).

- provides the opportunity for all students to participate in Start-Up projects competitions and internal grants competitions (https://semgu.kz/en/science/startup-projects-list?...), with the possibility of obtaining financing for the realization of their idea. For this purpose, students take economic disciplines (https://semgu.kz/en/pages/index?pathway=universite...), participate in training sessions on business plan development.

- Successful people’s lectures are given on a regular basis.
