From June 19 to 23, representatives from Canada from the international organization “Academics without Borders” arrived at Shakarim University to conduct a Summer Research School. The world-famous organization “Academics without Borders” provides assistance in the development of higher education systems around the world.
The purpose of the school is to prepare scientific research and articles for publication in recognized international peer–reviewed journals. The study of qualitative and quantitative methods of teaching social sciences.
The training is conducted by Aliya Kuzhabekova, Associate Professor of the Department of Educational Leadership, Politics and Management at the Verklund School of Education at the University of Calgary and one of the founders of the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education, Iskander Karibzhanov, Senior Analyst at the Department of International Economics of the Bank of Canada. Arafat Mamyrbekov, a doctoral student at the Department of Anthropology at the University of Calgary, is a volunteer of the project.
The participants of the summer school will have the opportunity to receive advice from trainers on their project under development within 9 months after the end of the summer school. Also, teachers will be able to get recommendations on the programs of research courses taught to undergraduate or graduate students, - said the specialist of the Center for International Cooperation Ermek Konganbayev.
At the end of the summer school, participants will receive a certificate from the international organization “Academics without Borders” and the University of Calgary.
