Today, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Daniel Rosenblum paid an official visit to Shakarim University. The delegation of the US Embassy in Kazakhstan included the spouse of Ambassador Ms. Sharon Waxman, the head of the Public Diplomacy Department of Ms. Debra Lo, the Deputy Attaché for Culture and Education Mr. John Orak, the officer of the Public Diplomacy Department Mr. Andrey Dvirny and the Program Coordinator Aidana Talgat.

The Ambassador was acquainted with the history of Shakarim University, current development vectors of the university.

The university management expressed their gratitude to the US Embassy in Kazakhstan for a fruitful cooperation and especially for sending a volunteer Ms. Emma Larson to our university. From September 2022 to June 2023, Ms. Emma Larson, a US citizen who is a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Fellow, gives free English lessons at Shakarima University.

At the end of the meeting, as a sign of gratitude and mutual respect, the parties exchanged memorable gifts. The Ambassador was presented with a book – Akem Abai Turaly (About my Father Abai). The Chairman of the Board - Rector was presented with a book about Mukhtar Auezov's visit to the United States in English.

The Ambassador and his spouse also met with active students of Shakarim University, who studied under the academic mobility program at universities in the United States, Poland, South Korea and Turkey. Student Rizabekova Ainur had the opportunity to share her positive impressions of studying at the University of Pittsburgh under the academic mobility program. The meeting was held in an atmosphere of openness and friendliness, the Ambassador answered the students' questions. The Ambassador noted the high level of knowledge of the English language among students and the originality of their questions. Students were able to get acquainted with the education system in the United States, its cultural features.
