Shakarim University Holds Psychological Training at “Abaistream” Festival Commemorating the 180th Anniversary of Abai

January 17, 2025 – The Head of the Psychological Support Service of Shakarim University, Professor Sh. Satiyeva, conducted a training session titled “Abai’s Doctrine of the ‘Perfect Person’ and Maslow’s Pyramid” as part of the “Abaistream” festival, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great poet, thinker, and educator Abai Kunanbayev. The training aimed to promote Abai’s legacy among young people and integrate it with contemporary psychological knowledge.

During the training, participants familiarized themselves with the main ideas of Abai’s doctrine of the “Perfect Person” and discussed his concepts based on universal human values, the unity of mind, will, and heart. Professor Sh. Satiyeva, comparing Abai’s doctrine with Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, explained to participants the interrelationship between spiritual and professional development.

Through interactive sessions, group work, and practical exercises, participants explored ways of self-awareness, goal setting, and developing personal qualities. According to the training participants, Abai’s legacy has not lost its relevance in the modern world, and the training helps to understand this legacy more deeply and apply it in life.

“Abai’s legacy is our spiritual wealth. Through this training, we wanted to convey Abai’s wisdom to young people, contribute to their self-development, and benefit society,” noted Professor Sh. Satiyeva.

The training participants gained new knowledge and experience and were inspired to create their own personal development plans.
